Van Gogh, Renoir, Klee, O’Keefe. These are just a few of the amazing artists that are shared with our students as part of the Art in the Classroom presentations. Once a month, an adult volunteer comes to the classroom to information with the kids about a particular artist. The students will learn about the artist’s life, work style, famous pieces, and other background. And then the part the kids love the most…the art project!
There are still several classrooms without volunteers and we are looking for help to bring this experience to all of our kids. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN ARTIST! Posters of the featured artwork are provided by the PTN as well a resource folder that contains ideas for projects and information about the artist. A PTN rep would be happy to meet with you and Pinterest boards have a wealth of information and ideas. The presentation dates are flexible in that you coordinate an agreeable time with your child’s teacher. PTN does have budget money for supplies that may need to be purchased for your activities. Please consider sharing your time once a month by volunteering for this really fun opportunity!
